Solar Power Systems

If thousands of dollars worth of energy bills are bothering you, then installing solar power systems are your best option for you to save money and to contribute to the environment.

It is easy and you can D-I-Y (do it yourself) with simple step by step videos and designs offered by several online manuals that sell the systems. With so many alternative energy sources at your fingertips, you are left with a wide body of choices. Among them, solar energy, wich is cheerfully available and as you know wind energy wich is secondary on wind speed. If you need larger amounts of energy, you can use both energies solar and wind at the same time and believe me with that solar power systems installed you will be the envy of you neighbors. Not only nature provides us with lots of free energy but an uninterrupted energy supply as well. So if you are thinking on implementing  Solar Power Systems in your grounds you should know that you will really benefit from this alternative process and is very easy, affordable and D-I-Y so there is no extra installation costs.

Solar Power Systems

With solar power systems in place you can muscle up much of your home attachments and it is also easy to position on your roof. Several associations offering the kit make the installment process very simple and a sort of D-I-Y when you opt for it. It could commence as your leisure activity where your family and kids can also join in the fun.

As an added come-on the surplus energy that you produce is likely to be bought over by the power companies. You can beat the energy bills and get paid as well for the overflow that your solar power systems generate. With time, you can also go off-grid if you need to.

Fot he most part, folks are going in for solar power systems in a submission to cheapen their debit on electricity bills. Countless persons who are using solar power are already undergoing a reduction of at least 50% on energy bills in the course of the early stages. In these tough financial times you need to spend on other fundamentals like mortgage payments and other bills.

By paying off a block to power companies doesn’t leave you with much to take care of your urgent requirements. Current Breakthroughs in Home Wind Turbines

Posted by outside_voices on Friday, 13 November, 2009

Wind power technology has been available for decades and has been steadily getting better and better. It has only been used for residential production of power in the past decade or so and has seen great improvements in both design and efficiency during that time. Modern wind turbines can be a great source of alternative power for many homeowners as they are quieter, smaller and generate more electricity than ever. Homeowners can now find guides and plans that teach how to build a wind turbine.

The biggest issue with early types of wind generators was that they were big and needed a very strong and consistent wind to get them turning. Because of their size and height requirements, they were not a good fit for many homeowners even though they generated sizeable quantities of power. Because of the residential areas in which these wind generators were being used, they needed to be mounted quite high up in the air. They had to be higher than other buildings and trees so that they would be exposed to as strong of a wind as possible to allow them to produce their maximum energy. In order to accomplish this, the wind generator had to be mounted at the top of a heavy duty, and often ugly, tower which was expensive and could cause complaints from neighbors. To make matters worse, there are restrictions on tower height or wind turbine installation in many towns. Large, open areas, free from tall buildings and trees were a better fit for these old, large units.

Modern wind turbine designs have reduced the size of the turbine and helped homeowners with smaller lots or in areas with trees or buildings. more modern designs require much less wind to spin and are much smaller than older types as well. Because of innovative construction materials, newer wind generators are also much lighter than older models. This means that they don’t need to be mounted as high as the older wind turbines and can still produce a good amount of energy from a smaller wind. Another improvement in these more modern wind turbines is their blade design which allows them to be more efficient with the wind they receive and quieter as well. These more recent wind turbines are also much quieter and more efficient thanks to their blade design. This can allow many homeowners who live in smaller neighborhoods to install these more recent wind turbines and generate green energy without causing much disturbance to their neighbors.

Another advantage to these more modern wind generators is that because they are lighter, they can orient themselves more quickly and actually generate power sooner than their larger counterparts. For a wind generator to work, it has to be able to rotate into the wind for proper blade orientation. This is usually accomplished through the use of a tail rudder. Before the bigger wind turbines could even produce power, they needed a strong wind to orient them properly so they could begin spinning. In many cases they could miss a smaller wind completely and never generate power. These newer, lighter wind turbines require less wind to orient them and can start spinning more quickly as a result. So, the older, larger wind turbines were spinning less often even though they would produce more power when they were actually spinning. Because they spin more consistently, the newer and smaller wind turbines will produce nearly as much energy over an entire year as the heaver ones. Lastly, because of their size many of the newer wind generators can be mounted directly to a roof and eliminate a lot of the cost of installation for the older versions. For any homeowner looking to produce renewable power from a passing breeze, a homemade wind turbine can be the perfect alternative.

Do-It-Yourself Wind Turbines

Posted by outside_voices on Tuesday, 13 October, 2009

As a pilot and a contractor, I always have had a fascination with mechanical things and how they operate. Two things in particular. Wind, power, and well…wind power.

Being around aircraft for a bigger share of my life, and seeing the internal workings of propellers and how they haul a plane across the sky, I was naturally drawn to building my own wind turbine to power my home.

There are two wind turbine guides that are by far the finest on the market.

These DIY wind turbine kit manuals are legitimate and well worth the price. I personally went with the Earth4Energy kit and had great success. I as well have used the Make Power at Home kit and found it to be worth the extra cost because of the many added extras you will get.

The instructions in both manuals are clear and very easy to follow, even for a novice. These kit manuals also boast a 100% guarantee that assures your cash back if you don’t deem this is for you. You certainly cannot fail by trying it out.

These are some of the advantages of making your own wind turbine.

  • Initial Cost

If you are to purchase a commercial wind turbine you possibly will pay up to $10,000 for the turbine and installation before it is all said and done.

  • Lower Your Electric Bill

This is, of course, an obvious one. But what some folks do not realize is how much they could possibly save. Consider what you pay every year in electric bills and then slash 80% off.

  • Independence From The Power Company

Remember the blackout in New York State and surrounding areas merely a short while back? Among an aging national grid system, more blackouts are prone to occur. With your individual wind power system, you are no longer reliant upon the power company, and you can breathe a little easier knowing you will possess electricity even when your neighbors don’t.
